Payday - with a corrected date!

Sorry for the radio silence of late - we've got a load of stuff happening behind the scenes here at Bountee and we should be in a position to let you in on the secrets shortly.
Before we get carried away though I just wanted to say that YAY! Today is PAY DAY!
Ahem...
And I made a little mistake on the email which was sent out with the payments - these are the payments for December 21st through to January 20th! Not the Holiday Season payments that I spoke about in my email.
Let's just put it down to my Christmas hangover shall we? Sorry.
But it has been a great month for a lot of people - and this is our first ever January trading so we didn't really know what to expect ourselves. We've been [quite humbly] surprised by the level of sales - so thanks everyone for your wonderful support.
And we promise that there are better things to come.

Colo(u)r Comp - WINNER!
We're very pleased to announce the winner of our end of 2007, Color Competition! And it's such a great way to start with 2008.
We had some fabulous entries, but the one that was pretty much unanimously chosen amongst all of the judges, for it's 'great use of color' and 'how the luminosity appeared to react to the change of shirt colour' (really) was 'SQUIGGLE' by RikkiB.
Congratulations RikkiB - it's a much deserved win from an artist who has consistently provided Bountee with some great designs! We've already sent the $500 prize money over to RikkiB and a copy of the frankly, amazing LineForm by Freeverse is winging it's way across the skies and oceans as I type.
But that's not the best of it. Because RikkiB is so, so happy to have won, and is too generous for us to be able to find words that do their kind hearts justice, they've kindly made every purchase of their prize-winning shirt a charity one.
Which means that in some small way, we are all winners!
Thanks to everyone who entered, and a big thankyou to our judges from Drawn.ca, Freeverse and ColourLovers.com
Another competition will be on it's way soon...

Chattering
Just a little note to say that if you are looking for help or support and you don't find it within our FAQs then you could find what you're looking for over in our forum.
Or if you just fancied mouthing off about your latest design, or discussing some of your finer illustration work with like-minded designers - well, that's ok too...

Creative Inspiration #1532

See that above? That's how we feel this Monday morning. But then as soon as you start to browse the work from the amazing hand of Heiko Windisch everything suddenly becomes clear again.
And then we got all excited because it turns our that Heiko has done some work for Threadless.
And not only is it beautiful, but it's got both Panda's and Robots in it - two of our favourite things in the world.
And then, your mood drops again because you find out that it's no longer available :(
So only another browse through Heiko's gloriously defined lines and wonderful colors will make up for it.
If only there was a way of making all of these amazing pieces available for wearing on your chest without any possibility of them being out of stock?
Still, in the meantime you can find more excellent examples of Heiko's work over at Faesthetic, grafuck and emptymag.

Pay Day: Your Bountee Has Arrived
What better way to start the new year than with some extra earnings eh? :)
The payments for November 21st thru to December 20th should be arriving into your email boxes and PayPal accounts as I type this. Please don't forget to accept the payments or else it will be returned to us - and nobody wants us with extra money at our fingers whilst the January sales are upon us!
After the last couple of pay days I have been getting a few emails from people who are surprised at either one of two things:
a) "I can't believe how much money I earnt this month!"
or
b) "How come I only earnt $3.50?"
The answers to both of these questions revolve around the same subjects of marketing your shirts and making the most of the Internet.
I shan't start to answer them now, but later next week I think I'll start a series of posts on "how to sell your shirts online".
I think the starting point will be that you shouldn't think of Bountee as a destination for t-shirt buyers but rather as the middle-man for your design sales.
But more of that next week :)

Graphic Design for the Fashion Industry (We're in it!)
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Holiday season?
We finally made it through the rush pretty much unscathed, and I wanted to say a BIG thank you to everyone who helped us make 2007 so blimmin' amazing!
THANK YOU
Anyway - back to work proper and we have some pretty cool news coming up within the next month or two - but more on that nearer the time.
For now, I wanted to let you know that if you're in the UK and you get access to a decent newsagent you could do worse than pick up a copy of the latest Computer Arts Projects magazine.
Why? I hear you ask... Well, it's a great resource for Graphic Designers who are thinking about making the transition over to things more garment like, and err... partly because we helped them work on a nice, little feature in it :)
Anyhoo... We're slowly getting our groove back here at Bountee HQ so expect more frequent blog posts and chatter over at the Bountee Board as we pick up steam.
